green smoothie I've been making before morning sessions
So this isn't anything fancy, right, just something I landed on a few weeks back when I was trying to use up a load of spinach before it went sad. Threw it in the blender with half a frozen banana, a bit of cucumber, squeeze of lime, oat milk, and honestly just hoped for the best.
Turns out it's become my go-to before early surf. It's light enough that I'm not sloshing around in the water but I actually feel like I've had something, you know? I add a scoop of matcha powder to it now as well — not every time, mind you, just when I've got a longer session ahead and I want that bit of a lift. The cucumber and lime cut through it proper nicely, it doesn't taste like a lawn. That's basically my only requirement for a green smoothie tbh.
- Half a frozen banana
- Big handful of spinach
- Half a cucumber (roughly chopped, skin on)
- Juice of half a lime
- 200ml oat milk
- Optional: half a teaspoon of matcha
Blend it hard. Drink it fast before it separates. Job done, proper job.
