skin just drinks differently in the heat

Right so I've always assumed summer skin = oily skin and basically left it at that. Turns out that's not really how it works for me at all. My skin gets dehydrated in the heat just as much as winter, maybe more tbh, because I'm sweating and then sitting in air-con all day and that combo is brutal. The tightness I get around my cheeks by 4pm is genuinely worse in July than February. I started being a lot more deliberate about collagen on the days I know it's going to be hot. I can't fully explain the science behind it, I'm not a dermatologist, but there's something about keeping it consistent that seems to help my skin hold moisture better than just piling on creams. To be fair I use a light moisturiser too but the collagen feels like the thing that's actually doing something underneath. Also — and this sounds obvious but I kept forgetting — drinking water before you go out rather than trying to catch up after. My hair and skin both seem to notice when I'm properly hydrated from the start of the day rather than trying to fix it at 3pm.

I get that cheek tightness thing too, noticed it way more in summer than I ever expected. drinking more water doesn't really seem to cut it on its own for me either

yeah the water thing never quite does it, like you can be drinking loads and still feel that dryness by afternoon
